I Married A Serious Olympics Fan!

I've never really paid a lot of attention to the Olympics much.  It probably had a lot to do with a lack of excitement for it in the home I grew up in.  But I have learned that my wife is quite passionate about the Olympics!  She was upset that she missed the best part (the beginning) of the opening ceremony because she was at work.

We've been staying up late every night, which is getting to me a little, to watch since a lot of the live coverage doesn't start until 10pm EST.

I must admit, never having followed the Olympics before, that it's a very interesting experience, and exciting.  I found myself cheering along with Sarah for the U.S.  I'm really hoping to see May-Treanor and Walsh get gold in Beach Volleyball; and watching Michael Phelps break record after record is awesome.  I have also enjoyed the history and culture we've seen about China.

I do wish the coverage was better, but with only one station covering the Olympics I'm sure it's really limiting.

Anyway, back to gymnastics!

Tricia just laughed cause the guy who won the 50 meter freestyle was crying. She doesn't get it. Boy did we jump on her.

But this is her first Olympics as a Lawrenson.

Just to make a point....

this is not Tricia's first Olympics. She was a Lawrenson 2 years ago for the winter Olympics and she was also a Lawrenson 4 years ago during the Summer Olympics.

It's okay, i understand that as we gets older, we tend to lose track of time.

Hee! Hee!

Just as an update. . .the TV doesn't get touched in this home right now if the olympics are on or else suffer the wrath of Sarah!

Thanks for the welcome.

So do all of your guys stay up to 1-2am watching?

We are too old to stay up that late. We use the DVR.

Never paid attention to the olympics? Are you an American?

Rick Lawrenson said...

I'll stay up that late only if there's something I absolutely want to see. But usually no.

DVR. . .would love to do that too.

Actually, I integrated Tricia during the winter olympics a few years ago, but apparently she forgot all that I taught her about national pride.

My apologies to the family.

And, I think we all owe Terry an apology for not warning him.
